The Power of Appreciation: A Simple Practice to Raise Your Vibration

The Power of Appreciation: A Simple Practice to Raise Your Vibration

Discover how appreciation can lift your vibration, open your heart, and create more joy, peace, and alignment in your daily life.

Appreciation Makes Your Heart Soar

Let's begin...

A friend recently shared with me that they had been spending more time in appreciation lately because of the shifting energies they were experiencing.

That conversation got me thinking about the power of appreciation and why it is such a transformative practice.

If you are familiar with the Emotional Guidance Scale, you know that Appreciation sits near the very top, alongside Love, Joy, Freedom, Peace, and Empowerment. It is one of the highest vibrational emotional states we can experience. Our emotions are constantly communicating with us, gently showing us whether we are moving toward or away from alignment with our Higher Self.

Depending on where you are emotionally in any given moment, appreciation may come easily, or it may feel just out of reach. The good news is that there is no wrong place to begin. Every emotion simply provides a starting point for reaching toward something that feels a little better.

What is important, however, is understanding the vibration of true appreciation.

Many people use the words appreciation and gratitude interchangeably, and there is certainly overlap. Yet sometimes what we call gratitude is actually relief.

"I am so grateful that's over."

"I am grateful I made it through."

There is nothing wrong with relief. In fact, relief is a wonderful place to be when you've been carrying stress, worry, or fear. But relief is a different vibration than appreciation.

Appreciation asks nothing of the moment.

It simply delights in it.

When you are truly appreciating something, your heart begins to soar. You feel lighter. Your smile appears without effort. You become immersed in the beauty of what is right in front of you.

This reminds me of an Abraham-Hicks process called a Rampage of Appreciation.

The idea is simple. You begin with one thing that genuinely feels good to notice. Then you allow yourself to move naturally from one appreciative thought to another. As you continue, momentum builds. Before long, you find yourself feeling happier, lighter, and more connected to the goodness that surrounds you.

It is a beautiful way to begin the day, and it can be especially powerful as a journaling practice. As you move from one appreciative thought to another, you begin to train your mind to notice more of what is working, more of what is beautiful, and more of what brings joy to your life.

You may even find that taking a few quiet moments in meditation before beginning helps you settle into the experience more fully. When the mind becomes still, appreciation often flows more naturally because we are no longer distracted by all the things demanding our attention.

For me, a Rampage of Appreciation might sound something like this:

I am looking out my window and the sun is shining. The plants are basking in its warmth and light. The water in the pool is reflecting the sunlight like thousands of tiny diamonds dancing across the surface.

Butterflies are zipping around the fiery orange flowers blooming nearby, completely absorbed in their work. The sky is a brilliant blue, and the puffy white clouds look like they were painted there just to remind me of the perfection of All-That-Is.

I can feel the warmth of the day on my skin even though I am sitting here writing. I can hear the gentle sounds of life moving all around me. In this moment, nothing is missing.

And suddenly I realize I have the biggest smile on my face and tears in my eyes because I am so blessed to be here, sharing this moment with you.

What a glorious day.

What a beautiful life.

Thank you for sharing it with me.

Today, I invite you to spend a few minutes in appreciation.

Not appreciation because something difficult is over.

Not appreciation because you're trying to fix something.

Simply appreciation for what is already beautiful, already present, and already worthy of your attention.

You may be surprised at how quickly your heart begins to soar.

Journaling Prompt

What are five things you can genuinely appreciate right now? Take a few moments to write about each one and notice how your feelings shift as you focus your attention there.

Many blessings,
