Let’s begin…
There are so many flowery, uplifting mantras floating around these days. Everyone seems to be telling you how happy you should be and how to get there.
But here’s the truth.
Life isn’t really about being constantly happy.
It’s about feeling a little better in this moment than you did in the last one.
Sometimes that doesn’t look like happiness at all.
Sometimes it looks like relief.
If you’ve been sitting in grief, fear, or feeling powerless, the next step might not be joy. The next step might be frustration… or even anger. And believe it or not, that can actually be movement upward.
There are many things that quietly wear on us.
Little thoughts. Old stories. Lingering worries.
They may not seem like a big deal in the moment, but you can feel them.
So pause for a moment and ask yourself:
What am I feeling right now?
And maybe even more important…
What thoughts am I holding onto that are feeding that feeling?
Then try something gentle.
Try reaching for a thought that feels just a little bit better.
Not perfect.
Not magical.
Just better.
That tiny shift can bring relief.
And relief is powerful.
When you hear something that brings you relief, sit with it. Let it soften the tension inside you. Let yourself experience the ease that comes with letting go—even if it’s only for a moment.
And remember this:
Not everyone will approve of the thoughts that bring you relief.
That’s okay.
You are not here to live inside someone else’s emotional experience.
You are here to tune into your own.
Only you know what thought moves you gently back up the emotional scale.
Only you know what brings your spirit a little bit of breathing room.
So if you have some vibrations that need clearing, take it one emotion at a time.
One step.
One thought.
One moment of relief.
Because the path back to joy rarely begins with happiness.
It usually begins with relief.
And that is more than enough to begin.
